Movable Jaw Plate: Connected to the connecting rod and eccentric shaft, it is capable of vertical oscillation. Fixed Jaw Plate: Mounted on the front wall of the frame, its position remains stationary.
The eccentric shaft serves as the main drive shaft of the jaw crusher, functioning as a crank mechanism. Driven by an electric motor, it induces the reciprocating motion of the movable jaw plate. Subjected to immense bending and torsional forces, the eccentric shaft is typically fabricated from high-strength alloy steel renowned for its exceptional wear resistance.
The elbow plate transmits power transmission forces. and also supports the lower end of the movable jaw for oscillation. It also functions as the jaw crusher’s safety device. Mounted at both ends of the eccentric shaft, the flywheel possesses substantial mass and inertia. It is commonly used to store energy and balance the rotational motion of the eccentric shaft, ensuring smoother operation of the crusher during operation.
The frame constitutes the supporting structure of the jaw crusher, categorised as either monobloc or modular. It serves to secure and support all components. The frame must exhibit high rigidity and stability to withstand the intense impact forces generated during crushing operations.
The jaw crusher is driven by an electric motor via a belt and pulley system. This drives the eccentric shaft, causing the movable jaw plate to move continuously up and down. During the upward movement of the movable jaw plate, the angle between the toggle and the movable jaw increases. This propels the movable jaw plate towards the fixed jaw plate. Simultaneously, the material is crushed and split, achieving the crushing objective. When the movable jaw plate descends, the angle between the toggle and the movable jaw decreases. under the action of tie rods and springs, the movable jaw plate moves away from the fixed jaw plate. Material is discharged from the bottom outlet of the crushing chamber. As the motor continues to rotate, the movable jaw plate cycles through crushing and discharging operations, enabling large-scale production.
